Privacy Policy

CarInsuranceHub.com publishes guides for owners of classic, collector and other specialty vehicles, and for everyday drivers, who are researching auto insurance, and it lets you request quotes. This statement explains how we handle personal information. "We" and "our" mean CarInsuranceHub.com; the site is not currently operated under a separate registered company name.

1. The information we collect
Browsing. Our server keeps access logs showing the requesting IP address, browser and device type, page and time. Google Analytics 4 (GA4) sets cookies and processes your IP address, device and page views to give us aggregate visitor figures and a general location (city or region). GA4 is used for measurement only, not advertising.
Quote requests. If you request a quote we collect: your name, email address, phone number and home address (street, city, state, ZIP); date of birth, gender and marital status; whether you or a family member has served in the military; education level; a credit score range you pick (we don't pull your credit); whether you own or rent your home; details of one or two vehicles (year, make, model, owned or leased); the level of cover you're after; your current insurer and how long you've been with them; and whether you hold a valid licence or need an SR-22.
Consent evidence. We save the consent statement you accepted, the time you accepted it, your IP address and browser, the page address, and whether your browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal. Our quote page uses TrustedForm, operated by ActiveProspect, which records the page and your interactions with the form to issue a certificate confirming your consent.
Requests and messages. Anything you send through our Contact Us form, including privacy requests, together with the IP address and browser used. Messages reach us by email and a copy is kept on our servers.

2. How we use it
To send your quote request to insurance companies, agents and brokers so they can give you quotes; to keep proof of your consent; to prevent spam and abuse; to understand and improve the site; and to handle requests and meet legal requirements.

3. Sale and sharing of your information
We sell personal information. Quote request details and the matching consent evidence are sold to insurance companies, agents and brokers offering auto insurance (including cover for classic and specialty vehicles) and to companies that refer drivers to them. They may contact you in line with the consent you gave and will handle your information under their own privacy policies. We only sell to businesses in auto insurance.
We also rely on service providers that process data for us: our hosting and email providers, Google Analytics and ActiveProspect (TrustedForm). We may disclose information where the law requires it or to protect our rights. Information from simply reading the site is not sold.

4. Cookies and Global Privacy Control
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser. A quote request made with GPC turned on is therefore not sold and won't be passed to insurers for quotes.

5. Your privacy rights
If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may ask us to: stop selling or sharing your personal information; tell you what personal information we have about you, its sources, why we collected it and the categories of companies we sold or disclosed it to; delete it; correct it; and review a decision we made on your request (appeal). You won't be treated differently for using these rights. California residents may also request, once a year, a list of the categories of personal information we disclosed to other businesses for their direct marketing.
To make a request, use our contact form. Opt-outs don't need identity verification and are handled within 10 business days. For requests to know, delete or correct, we compare the details you give with our records and may email you to confirm. We acknowledge requests within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, or explain if we need up to another 45 days. An authorized agent may act for you with your written permission. After deleting your information we notify the companies we sold it to.

6. Calls, texts and emails
You can reply STOP to a text message, ask a caller to stop, or unsubscribe from emails. You can also select "Stop contacting me" on our contact form: within 10 business days we'll stop contacting you and stop passing your details to any new company. Companies that already received your request keep their own do-not-contact lists, so please tell them directly as well.

7. Notice at collection (California)
We collect: identifiers such as name, email, phone and IP address (sold, except IP data from browsing); customer records such as street address (sold); characteristics of protected classifications such as age, gender, marital status and family military service (sold); commercial information such as vehicles, insurance history and cover wanted (sold); education information (sold); internet or network activity such as logs, analytics and the TrustedForm recording (used by service providers, with the TrustedForm certificate provided to buyers); and approximate geolocation such as ZIP code and IP-based location (ZIP code sold). Sources are you, your browser or device, and our analytics and TrustedForm providers. We don't collect sensitive personal information as California law defines it and we don't offer financial incentives.

8. How long we keep information
Quote requests and consent evidence: up to 5 years, so consent can be demonstrated. Privacy requests: 24 months. Google Analytics data: 14 months at most. Server logs: a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Messages you send us: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

9. Security
Pages are served over encrypted connections and quote requests are stored on private servers with limited access. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Children
This site is for adults researching vehicle insurance. Only people aged 18 or over can request a quote, and we don't knowingly collect or sell personal information about anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
